Ara, Bihar witnessed chaos as students created a ruckus during the Senate meeting of Veer Kunwar Singh University on Saturday. The situation escalated when Bihar Governor Rajendra Arlekar arrived for the meeting, which was vehemently opposed by several student organizations. Attempts by the police and university administration to pacify the students proved futile, leading to a lathi charge by the police.
As tensions flared, some student leaders attempted to enter the university, triggering the use of force by the police. Students have sustained injuries in lathi charge. The student leader of the protesting organization, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, condemned the Vice Chancellor, accusing the administration of suppressing students' voices.
The leader further assereted that the university administration's reliance on enrollment and examination fees was not a justification for their actions.
